This wine has a bright ruby color of medium intensity. Complex aroma reminiscent of plum jam, raisins, walnuts, in harmony with notes of chocolate and caramel from the barrel. In the mouth, it presents lighter-bodied characteristics, maintaining its intense flavors, due to its refreshing palate and high alcohol content, achieving in this wine a perfect balance.

The High Valley Vineyards are the sources of this Zinfandel. The North facing slope allows for longer hangtime while the South facing slope aids in the development of rich flavors. Mostly neutral barrels mellow out tannin, but 20% new French and American oak adds a spiciness and toast that compliments Zin well.

The 2020 vintage started out dry and warm. Weeks of 100+ degree weather in early May gave the vines a jump start. The heat held strong until August with a record 116˚ day in July! We started harvest a week earlier than normal, with all white grapes in house and fermenting beautifully by Sept 20th. The temperature cooled down to 80s during the harvest lull and stretched out the hang time on our reds allowing phenolic ripeness of the skins. We are seeing good color concentration and density in this vintage.
