The Monte Volpe Aglianico brings the depth and structure of Southern Italy’s great red grape into a distinctly Mendocino frame. It opens with dark, quietly powerful aromatics—black cherry, plum skin, dried blackberry, and warm spice—layered with the grape’s signature tobacco leaf, black tea, and mineral undertones. On the palate, the wine is firm, bright, and beautifully shaped, with Aglianico’s natural acidity lifting the dark fruit while fine‑grained tannins give it grip and length.

A subtle thread of iron‑tinged earthiness runs through the finish, echoing the volcanic heritage of the varietal while staying true to the clarity and freshness that define Monte Volpe’s Mendocino‑grown Italian varietals.

Monte Volpe

Potter Valley, Mendocino County

Monte Volpe celebrates the Northern Italian heritage that has shaped Mendocino’s vineyards for more than a century. The label focuses on classic grapes from Italy’s north—Dolcetto, Barbera, Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, and Pinot Grigio—translated through Mendocino’s sunlight, elevation, and cool evening air.
