This delicious wine's aroma unfolds with inviting notes of baking spice, red plum, and ripe cranberries, interwoven with a whisper of forest floor. has a brooding bramble and fennel salumi, complemented by subtle notes of all-spice.
On the palate, layers of fresh fig and blackcurrant are complemented by delicate earthy undertones and well integrated oak. The finish is long and satisfying, with nuances of Earl Grey tea, gentle minerality, and an elegant earthiness. This cooler growing season extended the ripening period by three weeks compared to recent years, allowing the grapes to develop deeper complexity while preserving a refreshing balance of acidity.
Hand-harvested October 2nd. Cold soaked for 5 days, fermented in small 1-ton tanks for a total of 14-day maceration. Native yeast and malolactic bacteria. 18% whole cluster. Barrel-aged for 11 months, 25% new Damy (Allier Medium) French oak. 100% Pinot Noir. Minimal
sulfites added.
Entirely sourced from Slusser Vineyard - a heritage estate in the family since 1846. Sustainably farmed. Old 115 clone Pinot Noir vines. Quadrilateral Cordon trained. Soil: Alluvial fans - Yolo silt loam and Huichica loam.
